Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Abdomen And Back While Having Dialysis?
My brother has been on hemp dialysis for about three years now and has always been sick with it however recently he has swollen feet, legs and stomach. He has been complaining with stomach pain, shortness of breath and back pains. He had been in and out of the hospitals for several months with always same symptoms. He has been to many doctors and had all kinds of test done but know one seems to find anything or give him any kind of relief. I hate to see him suffer and realize if he does notvget some answers and help he is growing weary and is so tired of being sick. Any extra insight would be helpful. Thank you.
It sounds that your brother is not responding to the hemo dialysis due to progressive pathology of the kidneys.
In my clinic, I do recommend detailed pathology evaluation and if needed counsel for the possible need of renal transplant candidate.
If you can provide me all details of current reports of last lab tests, I can guide you by comparing those with previous ones , the best possible direction he wants to go in for possible cure for life.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
