Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been having pelvic/abdominal cramping and lower back pain like I m about to start my period off and on for several months, even when it s the wrong time in my cycle. Usually several days in a row with a day or two in between. I take birth control pills. I just had an ultrasound and they found a dominant follicular cyst on my right ovary and inhomogeneous uterus. My mom and aunt both had uterine cancer. What does this mean and should I be concerned?
Spotting in between period is common side effect of OC pill...
But you are having some inhomogenous uterus that I can't get it...
Your pelvic and perspeculum examination done
If needed endometrial curratage can be done and sent for histipathological examination to do further work up (this is because your family history positive for uterine cancer) Regular follow up needed
Follicular cyst is benign condition that is treated by hormonal pill and if needed laproscopic removal
Take care
Advise : Gynecologist consultation for examination and further work up
