Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Abdomen On The Right Side?
I am having strange pain in the right flank area. Pain comes and goes, sometimes like someone is stabbing me and sometimes a dull tolerable pain. Strangely the pain either starts late morning or late afternoon and can last the duration of the day or go away. Doesn t necessarily travel although I have felt some pain in abdominal area. No blood detected in urine sample, no burning sensation or no frequency of urinating. Any thoughts?
You have given a good medical history. Firstly, I would like to ask some questions:
1. Do you have nausea or vomiting?
2. Is the pain related to breathing?
3. Is the pain related to meal taken?
4. Is the pain go backside?
5. Is there belching or burping?
These tests will give a clue and any doctor can give you a solution. Do not worry. I want to see your liver, gall bladder, any kind of hernia, pancreas, any infection, etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
