What Causes Pain In The Abdominal Muscles After An Injury?
Hi, I fell down the stairs at home on Friday night and yesterday and today a little bit noticed I have some pain (nothing unbearable though) in my abs. Is there any advice you might have? Would icing the area help? There isn t any bruising or scars or anything. And I feel fine to function normally. I ve been able to exercise at the gym the past two days without pain. The pain in my abs is worse when I m not doing anything really.
Sir the injury that you have sustained seems to be muskulosketal one with sparing of internal organs though we must be cautious in dealing with the latter injury. The causes of abdominal pain post injury may be multifactorial due to following 1. Spasm of the muscle 2. Injury to tendons at the end of abdominal muscle 3. Soft tissue injury involving fascial injury 4. Muscle hematoma For treatment following may be helpful 1. Ice packing would be beneficial 2. Resting the involved area 3. A combination of analgesic/ antiinflammatory with muscle relaxants 4. Plenty of oral fluids
