What Causes Pain In The Ankle After An Injury?

Hi I just was breaking boards by throwing a rock while they are leaned against my fence for firewood and the rock bounced and hit my left ankle then bounced to the inside bone on my ankle on my right foot. Now any time I apply pressure to my left foot I get a sharp pain that surges from the injury spot up to my knee. Ive never broken a bone but I m wondering if I should get it checked out or could it be manageable with home care?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be diet to minor contusion or sprain.

As a first line management you can take analgesics like Ibprofen or Diclofenac for painrelief. Apply icepacks for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated, in that case you may require an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
