What Causes Pain In The Ankle And Difficulty In Walking?

i woke up thurs with pain in my foot and ankle. thought i sprained it. but it hasn t gotten better. ice does not help, neither does rest. it has become very difficult to walk. it is a constant pain 24/7. just wondering if someone might have any ideas.

Hi and welcome to HCM. Thanks for the query.
This sounds like ligamentar damage or capsule tear and you should do Xrays for a start to rule out fracture. If there is no fracture it should heal in 2 weeks,but in cases of severe ligament injury it may be required to do MRI scan of ankle especially if pain persist for longer than 2 weeks. Till that youshould have crutches and rest and take nonsteroid painkillers.
