What Causes Pain In The Ankle And The Foot After Treating Pseudogout?
Hi, I have been diagnosed with gout, after further research i also have pseudogout. i had an attack of both of them recently. they have both since gone away and i am suffering from ankle pain. and foot pain, now i have put on a boot in order to get around now tonight my foot is still in heavy pain and i have started in on a fever with no visible infections. any ideas
I will suggest you to have a detailed look at your foot again to see any redness or swelling over any joint. This seems to be like a flare of your gout or pseudo-gout, manifesting as only fever and pain in joints of foot. Start taking cochicine. Simultaneously keep good hydration. check your uric acid levels and if you find any joint to be red and swollen, always look for infection in joint space. Doctor may tap fluid out from your joint space for test. you also need to measure 24 hours urinary uric acid levels to decide on drug which you need to do once this acute flare of disease is over. Meanwhile, you need to stay and rest in bed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Faisal Bacha, Internal Medicine Specialist
