Hi my name is Kim and I spoke with my mother this morning who lives in Az., by herself. She said that she got startled the other day when she woke up and her ankles hurt, she got extremely cold couldn t warm up at all. Then her arms started to hurt. She said her body hurt where it never hurt before. She said she was tempted to call 911 but was like what am I going to tell them , I m cold. So she didn t, hasn t yet called her doctor but knows she should. She said she hasn t felt the same since. I am concerned, should I be?
Symptoms of your mother are suggestive of viral fever as per the history you have noted. Please give her anti-inflammatory medications like Ibuprofen and repeat if helping.
If not ask her to consult a doctor and get investigated and add on prescription based medication. Full bed rest. Plenty of liquids orally.
Hope I have answered your query. Feel free to ask for further relevant queries.
Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
