What Causes Pain In The Arms After Receiving A Pneumonia Vaccination Shot?

Yes my mother went to her doctor yesterday for a check up and they noticed she never got the 2nd part to her pneumonia vaccine and so they gave her one in her left upper arm (which happens to be the same arm she has been having pain in lately they did not give her a cortisone shot for it though they thought it to be her arthritis) that is now since yesterday been swollen , red and with fever. I gave her topical and oral Benadryl. is there anything else I should be doing or worried about. she is 74 and on cholesterol , celexa , and tramadol for arthritis pain that I know of.

Good day and thank you for posting this question. No need to worry, it might be a reaction to the vaccine shot. Let her use Acetaminophen instead and continue her other medications. I hope it helps.
Thank you.
