What Causes Pain In The Arms While Moving After Taking Pneumococcal Vaccination?

I received the pneumococcal injection last Thursday and for two days my arm was very sore. The soreness went away but today my arm started feeling like I just received the shot again. Very painful and I can hardly put my arm out in front of me or raise my arm. Just moving my arm hurts. Is this normal since it s been a number of days since getting the shot.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

There should not be a substantial amount of pain after the pneumococcal vaccination.

If it is the issue, one has to consult the doctor for possible cellulitis at the injection site.

Primary relief with ice application can be easily obtained.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
