Hi, I have been having pain in my back and stomach for years , and the doctors can t find the problem. I have been taking omeprazole 20mg. for years because I have a hiatal hernia and terrible acid reflux. Just lately have wondered if my problem could be this pill?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the chronic ulcers are known to give back pain with a stomachache as referred ache.

The medicine is not the culprit for pain. Kindly discuss the need of upper GI endoscopy and CT scan of abdomen and pelvis to rule out any other underlying cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
