What Causes Pain In The Back Muscle Along With Nausea?

88 year old female that problem started out as muscle pain in her right back muscle. Was given a shot of prednisone and prednisone tablets. Also received a prescription for muscle relaxer. No improvement after one week. Went to ER complaining about nausea and back pain. ER did an X-ray found no broken bones. Gave her a RX for Hydrocodone. Pain started to go away but nausea still persist.

The pain you describe and nausea may not be related.The pain may have been caused by some muscle stress/strain.Since nausea started after your prednisolone shot and tablets, it could be a side effect of the drug.Hydrocodone is an opoid, very effective at pain but like other drugs taken orally, may make you nauseous too.
I will suggest you just stay calm, take your drugs as recommended, eat well and the problem will go when you finish your drugs.
