What Causes Pain In The Back Of Right Knee With Multiple Broken Blood Vessels?

I have been having pain in the back of my right knee area, more in the area above the joint, rather than the joint itself. The area is covered with multiple broken blood vessels, and is relatively black all the time. It has been really uncomfortable for the last few days. I have also been having muscle cramping in that leg and buttocks. I am a 52 year old overweight female, with no history of high blood pressure, diabetes, or other chronic health conditions. I have a job where I stand for several hours at a time. I also work out 4 times weekly.

Hi,

"Relatively black all the time" was quite a shocker! It's way under diagnosed having fluid in the back of the knee. It is due to all the things that cause fluid on the front or sides of the knee. This collection if in the back is called a baker's cyst. and being on the knees in front of an oven will always cause it. Or standing on concrete. Overweight, constricted vessels, make it worse. AND, not a bit of this causes relative black all the time. Even just a bruise in that location might be a sign of serious medical problems, so, it needs checking out.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
