What Causes Pain In The Back Ribs Radiating To The Front?

I have had this gradual pain starting on the right side of my back in the rib area and gos to the front where my ribs are. Its been slowly coming on for about four days now. I do have COPD, I have had Pneumonia, Plurosy, and Costrocongritis, as well kidney stones and this does not feel like any of thoses things. Its not that bad yet. It it uncomfortable when I move a certain way though. Just trying to determine if I need to call my Doctor. I am stumped as to what this is.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Such type of pain are usually either muscular spasm or due to pleuritis although you don't feel like pleuritic pain. I will advise you to undergo a ct scan of chest as pain is persisting. After ct scan diagnosis treatment can be done.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
