What Causes Pain In The Buttocks And Hips?

I have pain in my butt to hip and pain that radiates down the back of my ankle. My knee was replaced in August of 2015. I woke up yesterday morning (sleep on both sides with small pillow in between my legs) and it hurt to walk on my left side from the hip down. Pain hurts most when I sit and try to get up. I have taken only aspirin. I am 79 and had replaced the left hip 4 years ago.

Hi,

I think it may be osteoarthritis of the hip joint.

You may need to do an X-ray of the joint and also blood tests.

You also had a positive history of knee osteoarthritis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
