What Causes Pain In The Calves Upon Standing And Running?

I ve been having pain in my calves for the past several weeks. I think it s been longer than a month. It happens whenever I stand up, run for more than about ten seconds, stand still for too long (about a minute, give or take), or walk for a long time (half an hour if I m going at a steady pace and there are no hills.) About two days ago, I also started experiencing pain in my upper back, near my right shoulder blade. Lately I ve been having trouble sleeping as well-I ll fall asleep after several minutes, then wake up again not twenty minutes later. Each time I wake up, it s harder to go to sleep. Even when I m dead tired, I can t fall asleep for a while.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Symptoms of pain in calves are consistent with peripheral artery disease. I would recommend you see a Physician for that.
Regarding the sleeplessness, is it because of the pain in your legs that wakes you up or is there any stress in your personal life? Better to discuss this with your doctor in private. Thank you.
