What Causes Pain In The Calves?

Why could cause pain in both calfs? I haven t been exercising or doing anything out of the ordinary for me. I do have mild restless legs at night, but this pain is all.day.long! It doesn t worsen at any time of the day, but it does hurt worse when walking. If I elevate my legs I get some relief, but not much. They re tender to the touch and slightly warm. There s no redness on my actual calfs, but sometimes I notice that my feet seem very red.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You could be suffering from varicose veins in both of your legs in which valves in veins which prevent backflow of blood are not functioning properly resulting in accumulation of blood in lower limbs.

I would suggest trying compression socks and leg elevation for 2 weeks and see if you notice any improvements in your symptoms.

If symptoms persist then I would recommend seeing your doctor where he will do further tests to determine the exact cause of your symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
