What Causes Pain In The Center Of The Chest?

I have been having chest pain for the last 15 minutes. The pain is a little right of the center of my chest and slightly below my breast. When I lie down, the pain seems to go through to my back. I m a 52 yr old male, non-smoker/drinker. I am overweight , weighing 260 at 5 11 . No other health problems. I took 2 aspirin about 5 minutes ago. Never mind, I thought this was a free service. I don t need to pay $15 to have someone tell me to go to the local ER.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If the pain is affected by breathing, touch or movements then very likely this is a muscular pain and the aspirin should take care of it.
If the pain is not affected by breathing, touch or movements then it still might be a pain due to the chest wall but it is safer to have a visit with your doctor.

I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,

Antoneta Zotaj
