What Causes Pain In The Center Of The Chest?

My daughter,24, has had abdominal pain in the center of her chest, right in the bra line area. She had a part of her celiac artery replaced in 2009 with great results ( no more abdominal pain after eating, etc) she had been doing great until 2015 when she had right sided pain and gallbladder taken out. This pain is different than her regular nerve centered pain that has usually been right above her belly button. Been to drs and ER in the past month with CT scan showing dilated extra and intrahepatic ducts but no stone, elevated liver enzymes, diarrhea and severe severe pain at the top of sternum. Endoscopy just showed inflammation at the gastric cardia. She is now having this severe pain again, starting yesterday. She refuses to go to dr as she feels that nothing had really been found or resolved from the last visits. She had been placed on protonix and Carafate along with continuing her regular Gabapentin for what drs call nerve ending pain right above her belly button.. please give me guidance.

Hi,

Central chest pain can be due to: Gastroesophageal reflux disease. The other cause could have been pulsating heart due to stone in the gallbladder which you had removed so this is ruled out.

GERD can cause typically pain and burning sensation in the central part of the chest due to acid reflux.

You don't worry. Take Tab. Lansoprazole. You will feel pain-free.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
