Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Chest And Back After A Heart Attack?
My dad had a massive heart attack. Pain in his chest back and arm went on for days before he went to ER. Now they suspect he has pulmonary embolism and he is hallucinating. What are his chances of recovery BTW one artery is 100% clogged and still is and the put a Stent in the one that was at 90%
Really sorry to hear about his condition. A heart attack is a serious and life-threatening condition. The initial mortality is that almost 1 out of 4 patient die before reaching the hospital.
The exact number as which patients may survive cannot be estimated though there are a number of scoring systems. However, people who have heart failure after MI, those with deranged renal functions, have the worst outcome.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
