Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having pains in my breasts and chest and shortness of breath and been on Vagifem 10 mcg since 2014. My doctor says that the breast and chest pain are not due to Vagifem. This pain comes and goes. I double my dosage by taking 10 mcg in a week and I began to feel pain in chest and breast, shortness of breath, nausea and diarrea. Do I go back to just one tablet a week or get off of the Vagifem altogether? My doc says to keep taking it one tablet a week as I was doing before. I am under a whole lot of stress, maybe anxiety attack or panic attack? I am feeling better today though.
These are due to the possible side effects of Vagifirm tablet which you have doubled the dosage. It can cause breast tenderness, nausea, abdominal discomfort, chest pain.
All you need to do is to reduce dosage as your doctor has recommended. If symptoms continue after that you definitely need to substitute an alternate drug.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Soheel Hussain Zargar,
