Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I m a 44 year old woman for the last week I ve been having pains in my chest and left shoulder. I ve recently was in the hospital for having chest pains. The cardiologist did a nuclear stress test and they said it came back positive that at some point in the past I had a heart attack. I have appointment with my doctor this week. Should I wait to see him or what?
I believe you should see a doctor right away, especially with ongoing chest pain. Please do not wait. *do you have any other medical issues or take any medications? *what is your height and weight? *do you smoke or consume alcohol? *have you undergone and angiogram?
I recommend : -a physician consult and cardiologist opinion -electrocardiogram, echocardiogram -blood tests (complete blood count, lipid profile, blood glucose levels, kidney and liver function tests, troponin I, cardiac enzymes) -urine analysis
The cause of your chest pain must be immediately addressed and things can go from bad to worse quickly. Please see a doctor right away or visit the ER. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you there is anything else I can help you with. Wish you good health
