Hello. I was recently diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism and Graves Disease. My physician s prescribed me 10mg Methimazole, 75mg Metoprolol and .5mg Ativan. Heart palpitations / rate, tremors and digestive symptoms have decreased, however, now I am having chest pains that radiate through my shoulders and shoulder blades. I ended up in the ER this week - my heart is fine. WHY am I experiencing this new symptom? PLEASE HELP!
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Chest pain are not only because of the heart, if there is no problem with your heart as you said, the pain can be from the stomach, gall bladder , or even muscular pain. so i would advise your should get an ultrasound done to see fro the gall-bladder stones, i also think you better use some antacids, if things persists you must then talk to your doctor to see what could be wrong,as there are a lot other causes of pain in the chest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
