Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Chest Radiating To The Jaw?
I ve been experiencing sudden onset sharp chest pains on my right side that radiate up into my jaw (both sides of my jaw). It can last only a few minutes but one time it lasted an hour. This has been going on for 5 years and these incidents are occurring more often. I ve started tracking them and they are occurring about every 2 weeks. Could this be a heart-related condition? I m a 54 year old female.
I can understand your concern. Have you ever been tested by cardiologist for heart function?
As you are having pain that is in chest and radiates to the jaw, it is possible that you are having a heart condition that is undiagnosed and the pain is referred to the jaw.
I would advise you to visit a physician or cardiologist and go for check up like blood pressure, ECG etc. If the tests are fine, then you are having muscular pain and there is nothing to worry about. You can control it with regular painkillers.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
