What Causes Pain In The Chest?

My upper chest has been hurting for awhile now. Not all the time. It seems to always be there just less at times then others. Seems to help to take antacids I have had my thyroid completely removed it was cancer about 10 years ago. I have always taken nexium or some type of that type of med. I haven t had any for about three months don t know if that could be the problem.

Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM
I have read and understood your concern.
Since antacids seem to help in your chest pain, GERD is a possible cause. The pain may be because you have been off nexium for a while.I will suggest you continue with nexium and observe. You may add an antacid like maalox. If pain persists, you see the Doctor for examination.
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns
Best regards
