Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, Lately I have experienced pain during sleeping hours at my diaphragm. I ve had endoscopy to and through the stomach in the last 12 months - all good. I have also had periodic pain on rare ocasiones in same area for decades. Stress seems to be contributory although little theses days - retired. Night meals high in fat possibly contributory recently. No known food allergies, but suspect gluten and I are not best friends. Nor are high fat meals as mentioned. Healthy, 63, no meds, male, white, active, plays guitar and actually takes long walks on the beach ;-)
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM I have read and understood your concern These are many medical conditions that may cause chest pains. However, your description is not clear enough and a physical examination by the Doctor will be needed to know exactly what may be the cause of your symptoms.I feel your symptoms may be due to heartburns related to night meals.Other causes of chest pain like heart, lungs and other digestive pathologies are less likely in your case.I will advise you try the following: -Avoid lying immediatley after meal -Eat in small quantities and more frequently -Avoid meals that aggravate symptoms especially at night -If symptoms persist, you take a proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole and if no improvement, you see the Doctor for examination. Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns Wish you good health
