What Causes Pain In The Earlobe After Ear Piercing?
I recently had ear lobe piercing less than a week back.. At first there was no pain but now I have pain on one ear lobe in d back side.... There is slight inflammation but nothing else But now for d last two days I have slight fever with body pain n some eruptions on face I doubt iIhave chicken pox Can iItake separate medicines for dis If so what medicines can itake initially for piercing infection
You are right. This sounds like an infection of the earlobe. This can become very serious. The lobe may swell and drain pus.
Under the skin of the ear is cartilage which can also become infected and leave you with a deformed ear.
It is URGENT that you see your physician right away. If there is infection, he/she will remove the jewelry from your ear. And prescribe an antibiotic, as well.
Perhaps the fever is due to infection of the earlobe. Your doctor will be able to diagnose your skin rash when you are seen. If the doctor is unavailable, go to the emergency room immediately!
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Arnold Zedd, Pediatrician
