What Causes Pain In The Ears And Cough?

i have been sick since last tuesday. my symptoms are: pain in my ears when I swallow,swollen neck glands,cough,tightness in my chest, my left eye is all red and is gooey. I have been to the doctor 2 times. I have been taking Musinex D, I`m on an inhaler. I have prescription for my eye. The doctor said my lungs sound clear, my ears look ok, my throat is a little red. I have not had a fever. He said it will clear. What is your oppinion.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have ears and cough which is due to ear infection or eustachian tube dysfunction. I would suggest you to visit Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and start treatment after proper examination. Get all the lab tests done and examination with otoscope. You should take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin along with Ibuprofen. You should put Otogesic ear drops 2-3 times a day. You should take proper rest and apply warm compresses on external ear. Try to avoid pricking it with any sharp object. You should avoid sleeping on this side.
