Hello, my name is Evan I m 20 years old and I ve been experiencing elbow pains for quite some time now. It began very mild and than resulted in me getting very sharp pains from mid way on my bicep to mid way down my forearm. I went to see my PCP and he insisted it was a strain; thus, he prescribed me some anti inflammatory pills and I went on with daily life. About two days later I sprung a rash. The rash was only on my arm that had been hurting and was painful to the touch. It felt numb, and felt like billions of needles were in my skin. It looked very close to pictures I ve seen of shingles; however, I ve never got chickpox, I ve had the vaccine, and I m considereably young to get shingles. I searched up the anti inflammatory and it showed side effects of hives and rash; thus, I called my doctor and told them about it and he told me to discontinue usage of the pills. I then went on with my life hoping the rash would go away, but it only continued to get worse. Desperate from the pain, I found some old cephalexin pills and searched what they primarily treat. Seeing that they treated skin rash I decided I d try them for a day or two and see if I couldn t get rid of this rash. Roughly five days past and the rash was nearly gone and almost all the pain associated with it except for my thumb and index finger was gone. Those fingers were very sensitive to the touch. I stopped taking those pills for a few days then decided to start back up due to my fingers still not being completely back to normal. I then began to get extremely itchy, especially on that specific arm that has been giving me troubles. It would keep me up all night sometimes just intching and if I itched it then it d only make the itch more intense (only on the arm). I made the decision to quit taking the pills and now I ll see if that helps. However, I d like to know if these symptoms are common with anything known to anyone or if they re just a guessing game. If the itch doesn t go away and the pain comes back I ll be making another visit to my doctor, but I don t have much money which is why I m so reluctant. Anyways thank you for your time and I m looking foward to your response! *It s also important to note that the following happened in this order. *One week of shooting nerve pain in my elbow *Two days of relief *One week of rash *Two days of relief *One week of itching Especially on my left arm. I also feel kind mini twitches with my arm or biceps sometimes, only on that arm. I never felt any heart pain associated with these pains. The rash only broke out on my left arm and didn t seem to spread when I touched it with my other arm.
