What Causes Pain In The Face And Neck Of A Toddler?
Hi yes my toddler fell and hit her chin hard on a door facing and her face is cut but also brusied and it hurts her when I touch it and I tried to give her some meds and it hurts her to open her mouth and she said her neck and her face hurts what should I do and what do you think it is
Pain in the face and neck that she is experiencing is likely to be from the trauma. Apply ice to the bruised painful areas. Feed her liquid diet using a straw so that she does not have to open mouth too much or chew until the pain subsides. Make sure that she stays hydrated. Tylenol or Ibuprofen can be given to managing pain. The dosage of these medication depends on the age and weight of the child. Please be advised to follow up with her paediatrician to undergo a physical examination, rule out underlying fracture and to calculate the appropriate dose of Tylenol/Ibuprofen needed for your toddler.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
