I have foot pain in the top of my foot by my toes making them feel like they are sprained very tender spot between 4th and 5th joint and also have pain a gong down right side of foot from the toes to the ankle. Lots of pain when getting up to walk ,getting out of bed and standing walking for long period of time. I was in a car accident in May 2015 where the other vehicle ran a stop sign and I was on the highway going 50 mph slammed on the brake and did not let off it direct hit into the other vehicle

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms could be related to local inflammation or a pinched nerve.

For this reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam, a foot X-ray study, and some tests:
-complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation
-blood electrolytes, including calcium and vitamin D plasma levels for possible deficiency
- uric acid plasma levels.

If these tests result normal, I recommend performing nerve conduction studies.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
Cardiologist
