Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Fingers Radiating To The Wrist?
I am experiencing pain in my hand more toward the top of the hand at the V between the forefinger and thumb. The pain is worse when I flex my hand and outstretch my fingers. The pain radiates up into the wrist. It hurts when I move it and often when it is immobile. I am not aware of an injury, but did lift a very heavy item recently,
Most probable cause is nerve compression and it is also called carpel tunnel syndrome. This pain increases on flexing the wrist. You need to visit orthopedician. Treatment includes oral medicine, local injection and splint. OTC medicine can be tried for pain, and definitive treatment is surgery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sagar Makode
