Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain in my joints, hands and feet hurt when I get up...pain in knees and back etc.. did blood work...negative for lupus, r.a. sed rate good, don t remember inflammatory count..doctor doesn t know what it could be.. will see a rheumatologist in a few weeks.....any ideas
I understand your concern. It is good that lupus is excluded as a possibility. However, it is quite common for sedimentation rate to be normal in joint diseases such as Rheumatoid arthritis and Osteoarthritis, especially in the beginning to the disease when the first symptoms appear. The rheumatologist will be able to make the diagnosis base on physical exam, your present symptoms and further lab tests.
Wishing you all the best
