I have been having hand and finger pain for several months now, I am left handed but have more pain in right hand, I am disabled due to back injury, in my early 40 s..I have used OTC ointment and anti-inflammatories along with some Rx ed meds, none have helped a great deal...what type of doctor should I see to get further treatment.
Hi, there are many conditions in which such symptoms can occur rheumatoid arthritis is one of them it is an autoimmune disorder in which joints are affected usually of hands and fingers. Thorough examination and investigations can help conclude the diagnosis. You should visit an Orthopaedic doctor or a rheumatologist who can guide you further. Get adequate rest and avoid overworking with hands you can take painkillers containing acetaminophen or tramodol to decrease the pain until your appointment with an Orthopaedician.
