Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have pain in my hard palate after eating a hard apple, think I have jarred or scrapped roof of mouth, very sore. One upper front tooth very tender when biting. Is this common and whats the best way to deal with it and how long will it take to heal?
It looks like trauma or tear to the mucosa of the hard palate which is causing pain.. Although not commonly seen but can happen with hard foods..
Tenderness of tooth can be due to transient injury, however if it does not resolve in a week then an x ray should be done to check for any crack in tooth.
For hard palate you can apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine over it.. Take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.. Avoid spicy and hard foods.. Rinse with cold water to reduce inflammation..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
