What Causes Pain In The Head And Chest After A Blood Transfusion?
A few days ago I was given a blood transfusion and an iron infusion due to low hemoaglobin and iron. Colonoscopy and endo coming up. The last couple of days I have been getting some strange pains in crown of head, lower back and across chest in a throbbing sensation and at the same time. They dont last long maybe 20 seconds but dont feel right
No, if it would have been related to blood transfusion, it would have caused dark colored urine, chills and hypotension and not something you would have been able to bear that long. The pain with chills what we call febrile transfusion reaction, occurs while you are having transfusion while hemolytic transfusion reaction is characterized by hypotension and dark colored urine. Since you have none of these, you don't likely have any transfusion related problem.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
