My boyfriend was walking around in the bed room bear foot and he said he has something stuck in his foot by the heel, but he said when he sits down and touching his heel he can t see it or feel it but when he walks on his heel he can feel it. He says it hurts to walk on it. What could it be?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Plantar fasciitis or calcaneal spurs can be the reason for pain. It is better to have an examination by orthopaedicain to rule out this. A x ray might be needed to rule out other conditions. You can apply ice packs on foot or place your foot on and off on ice water bottle. Taking a short course of NSAIDs like Ibuprofen (motrin) will be helpful also. If there is no improvement then local injection of corticosteroids like triamcinolone will be helpful.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
