What Causes Pain In The Heels And Knees After Taking Levaquin?

In the past I have taken Levaquin for sinus infection and within two -three days experienced tendon pain in heels, and knees. I stopped taking the Levaquin immediately. Tendon pain continued for weeks, then stopped. This week I was prescribed doxycycline for sinus infection. After three days the area on the top of my foot has been very painful to walk on. Are the two medications related, and what other medications are related. I have had reactions to Kleflex (Cephalexin), Clindamycin Hcl. Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* So far as medicines narrated here, Levaquin is a fluoroquinolone group of drug while Doxycycline is tetracycline group of drug ; both are not related.
* But there is possibility that you are sensitive to both group of drugs which is the reason for leg cramps following its intake.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
