What Causes Pain In The Hips After A Back Fusion Surgery?

Three months ago I had back fusion surgery at L4, L5, and S1. I am experiencing hip pain and some pain in the pelvis area and the right side of my body. The left side is perfect. My physical therapist took me off of my exercising and will see me in a week. I am very concerned because I did not have this pain and stiffness before surgery. Any suggestions? (I have an appointment with my surgeon on Dec. 1.)

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Most probably it is due to nerve compression. As a first line management you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
