Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband age 60 had his right hip replaced 3 years ago. In December he started having pain in the hip area down to his knee. His surgeon did MRI & Xrays & showed nothing was wrong with the hip. Since then he went to a neurosurgeon & pain management doctor. He is taking Hydrocotin & Gabapentin but he has constant pain. No relief standing, sitting or laying down. What should we do next & what questions should we ask?

What Causes Pain In The Hips And Knees?
Hi, This type of radiating pain is mostly because of spinal nerve irritation because of disc herniation or age related degeneration of lumbar vertebra. Lumbosacral X-ray will give probable idea about the condition. However, CT scan would give clear picture. So consult neurophysician after CT reports. Till then take Tablet DAN MR. Visit physiotherapy clinic. Apply hot compression over lumbar spine (lower back). Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
