Yes. I am 95 years old - in quite good health, despite pain in left side hip area, and down to the knee. Not sure why the areas, except that some years ago broke left hip. I think you should do an X-ray of the hip joint. I think you may have osteoarthritis.
You can use anti-inflammatory drugs such as Advil or naproxen to reduce inflammation. Oral corticosteroids can be prescribed by your doctor. Also, you can use corticosteroid injections.
