What Causes Pain In The Hips On The Left Side?

I have been experiencing left hip pain while standing for the last six months. In the last month or so I have been unable to shop, do dishes or anything after 5 minutes because the pain so severe that I feel like I will pass out if I can t sit down immediately. What could be causing this? I am 61 years old and have always been very active.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Take an x-ray of left hip. An orthopedician opinion for osteoporotic lesions. Topical oils and hot or cold compression can help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anusuya Ramesh
