Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My index finger started to hurt about 5 days ago. in the last 4 days, my index finger has swollen the skin by the cuticle is turning whitish. the swelling is from the cuticle to the first knuckle. Yesterday a light red line has traveled from the base of that finger down the forearm toward the distal side of my forearm. My forearm along the path of the redness is sore like a bruise. soaked my finger two days (warm water) redness (line) has lightened but still there. However, the fingertip is still very swollen like a giant blister
There is some infection in your fingernail. I would suggest you to take a course of antibiotic. If there is some yellow pus point then it may need to be drained. So visit a doctor asap.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi Mahato, General & Family Physician
