What Causes Pain In The Jaw Radiating To The Left Ear?

I had the flu jab on Friday 21st April 2017. On eating my dinner on Saturday 22nd April I had a really bad pain in my left jaw which radiated up to my lower left ear. My face was very swollen. I have put a heat pad on and rested during the night but have still woke this morning to find swelling, though slightly less, it is obvious and slightly hot. Is this a reaction to the flu shote? Thank you

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Your symptoms are not appearing to be due to flu shot but is appearing to be due to some tooth related problem like a tooth abscess..
So first of all get examined by a Dentist so that if there is any decayed tooth present he can take an x ray and start treatment..
A course of antibiotics like Augmentin and anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen or Naproxen can be advised..
Also stop doing warm or hot compresses as it can exaggerate the swelling.
Do it cool compresses and take painkillers with Serratiopeptidases to reduce pain and swelling..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
