Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Joints And Body After Knee Surgery?
ive been having lots of aches and pain throughout my body including joint pain. I have recently had knee surgery to replace a ACL, torn miniscus and a hairline fracture in the tibia paltue, since ive been nack to work for 2 months and noticed my aches and are getting worse
As post ACL Reconstruction surgery, most cases are advised to undergo physiotherapy for the better outcome score.
The physiotherapy treatment should focus on the ACL reconstruction rehabilitation and also the sound limb which isn't injured as well.
Post the 8-12 weeks of knee rehabilitation the focus should be directed towards the upper body and other limb to achiever the fitness levels of the body as a whole.
While in rest, there is muscle weakness and this will reduce the joint space and lead to pain. Regaining the muscle strength is of utmost importance post any operation.
In my clinical practice of over 12 years, most ACL reconstruction cases are advised to undergo a knee rehabilitation program and post this a fitness training to have a better outcome score.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
