General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would like to suggest:
1. Electromyography
2. Chest X-Ray
3. Complete Blood Test including Uric Acid
4. Urine Analysis
5. Kidney Function Test
6. Rheumatoid Factor and Anti–citrullinated antibody
7. Thyroid Function Tests (T3, T4, TSH)

I would like to suggest these medicines:
1. Ibuprofen for severe pain.
2. If Uric Acid level is more than normal, please start:
Colchicine

Meanwhile, please follow this :
Diet is an important factor when it comes to reducing uric acid levels. Individuals suffering from high uric acid levels should consume a lot of water. This is because water helps to flush out uric acid via urine. Medical experts recommend drinking 14-16 glasses of water daily.

Limit your daily intake of meat, as it contains high amounts of uric acid. Kidney, herring, liver, sardines, mackerel, and salmon are examples of foods with high uric acid. Eliminate the intake of alcohol as it prevents the body from getting rid of uric acid. You should add fruits and vegetables to your diet, however, you should only include those that do not contain high amounts of purines.

Orange, apple, banana, pumpkin, and broccoli contain low levels of purines, however, foods such as spinach, cauliflower, asparagus and mushroom are loaded with purines. Other foods that are good for reducing uric acid include rice, cereal, bread, whole grains and pasta. Low-fat dairy is also suitable as it decreases uric acid in the blood.

Please post your tests result so that a doctor here can follow you up and can give next course of treatment if required. Please do not delay and do not worry as you are in good hands. We are always online and ready to serve you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
