Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain in my joints of both hands, one hand is worse than the other. On one hand the finger feels like it pops out of joint when it is bent. But I also muscle sores all the up my arm to my shoulders. Any ideas what this could be? My doctor did a blood test for RA and said it was negative.
Hello, Most of the time RA factor is not a specific test to diagnose rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Plus all joint pains are not due to RA. Sometimes these pains can be non specific type too. Or can be due to rise in uric acid in the blood which can lead to gouty arthritis. Please get a blood uric acid test done and values are higher than 7 mg/dl, then there may be a need to take certain treatment to reduce uric acid. In case of RA, there may be a positive family history. Small joints are first affected. Thanks.
