What Causes Pain In The Knee And Finger Joints After Child Birth?
Hi, I am 29 and just delivered my first baby girl 2and half months before in November. I am suffering from joint pain in knees fingers and backache. I have consulted my gynaecologist, she asked me to get ASO TITRE done and it came to 400 I.e. positive ..Please let me know what is this in actual ? Is this a cause of concern ? Does this affect my baby as she is beast feeding ? Are there any natural or home remedies to cure this ?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
ASO titer indicates the range of anti-streptococcal antibodies which confirm recent streptococcal infection which can cause joint pains.
The test provides a specific selection of treatment plan (suitable antibiotics along with routine treatment).
Apart from allopathy, there are Ayurvedic & homeopathic treatments are available.
It does not hamper breastfeeding (unless the antibiotic prescribed affects... please confirm with prescribing doctor).
Once relieved with the treatment... arthritis does need care & prevention for a few years.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale,
