What Causes Pain In The Knees Radiating Down The Leg?
Sporadic leg and knee pain, particularly with walking and standing. Strongest pain is by back and side of knee but radiates from gluteus all the way down leg. Comes and goes , lasting a few minutes to a few hours. No obvious injuries or falls. Used to occur once every couple months but now happens once or twice a week. Is this part of osteoporosis?
Hi Thanks for posting o HCM Osteoporosis may not have any symptoms till a fragility fracture occurs. However, bone strength reduces with age and could be considered even though it may not be the cause of the pain you have now.Possible causes may include: -Knee osteoarthritis -Knee bursitis -Tendinitis -Gout -Pseudogout -arthritis I will advise you try the following *Take a pain drug like ibuprofen *A myorelaxant like miorel *Local pain gel like dynapar gel *Rest *Ice pack placement *Regular fitness exercises *Healthy diet If these measures do not help control the pains, you see your Doctor for examinations.A knee x ray will be very useful and your Doctor may also request a bone densitometry test to evaluate your bone mineral density to know if osteoporosis is contributing to your pain or not. Hope this will help Best regards
