What Causes Pain In The Knees While Getting Up After Knee Replacement?
Hi: I had knee replacement In 2010 & 2012. The plate between the upper and lower moved and had to have surgery to correct. Doctor put in a screw to hold in place. Both knees are Zimmer. Both are loose. Are Zimmer known to be a problem (loose). My last surgery was August 18th. And both knees hurt when getting up from a sitting position, And both knees have movement. Jay
As this pain is caused due to muscle weakness which is directly getting in touch with the implant. As there will be a contraction of the muscles while you do a movement to get up from sitting position, the muscle will press over the screws. Also, since you had back to back surgery for the same issue the muscles will be weak and need attention.
I will advise you to do hot water fermentation and post which strengthening exercises for the quadriceps and hamstring. Static Quadriceps and static hamstring will help to regain muscle strength.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
